Title: 5mm Cleaning Rod?
Post by: Todd Rahm on December 06, 2010, 09:45:44 PM
So do they even make one or do I just use a .204 cleaning rod? What do you professionals think?

They are the same caliber Todd. But I'm betting you knew that.  I only ever use Bore Snakes on my RF's.

I'd go with the cleaning rod... just something about dragging the dirt/copper fouling trough a 2nd time.

Cleaning rod gets my vote.

Never liked the thought of using a snake when it gets dirtyer and dirtyer evertime you use it.

Yes Sir.  :yoyo: :yoyo:

The 5MM  was converted to CF cartridges when ammo went to the dark side. With the commercialization of  Todd Kindler's TAC20 cartridge,, 223 down to 204,, ie the 204 Ruger,, 222Mag necked down to 204,,  folks got real skippy with their 5MM Craig CF conversions & started reloading the new 204 bullets in their converted rigs.

Center of the page toward the bottom is a 5MM Craig CF conversion article if you're interested.
