Title: Peacock Bass
Post by: FinsnFur on January 08, 2011, 11:55:06 AM
Never heard of such a thing till now.

Buck McNealy is on the Outdoorsman this morning and he's down in Brazil fishing for Peacock Bass. Really cool looking fish. Apparently they get up to 3 feet long :eyebrownod:

Yeah, they do look like a giant Perch. Some of the ones they were catching didnt have any stripes. The stripes were replaced by a single dot like the one on the tail in that pic. Which made a single row of dots along the fishes lateral line.

They were cool, and weird looking at the same time.

I fished for them on the drive down from Miami to the Keys.  Never caught one, but had some "hot" tips on where to go.  I fish for a lot of things I never catch.
Oh yeah, no prostitutes, either.   :pout:
