I was supposed to meet up with PAbrushwolf at 7AM friday morning for a hunt. I had gone outside about 6:30 and it was raining with the wind blowing hard. Right then it wouldn't have bothered me if Mike said he didn't want to go. But at 7AM it changed over to light snow. So the hunt was on.
We hunted a ridge that was over a big hollow that I had been wanting to hunt. We made several stands but nothing showed up. So we moved on down the road some.
We walked back a log road to where there was a thicket on the left and more open hardwoods on the right. And it was kinda in a saddle with a hollow going down each side. Mike had his shotgun and I had a rifle. So Mike covered the edge of the thicket and I faced the other way into the hardwoods. I started doing some distress on my Pee-Wee Critter Call and about 5 minutes into the stand this big female came up the edge of the thicket right towards Mike. He shot her at about 30 yards. It was his 1st coyote that he's taken with a shotgun.
