It was beautiful last night, with a bright moon out, and almost no wind, so I decided to head out to a friend's farm and do some calling. I hike all the way out, get setup, and sit for a while just to let things cool down. About ten minutes later, a coyote lets out a nice long howl from the other side of the woods. I punch of a female invite on the FoxPro and hit play - nothing happens. I fiddle with it for a while, still no response from the caller, and then it hits me - when was the last time I checked the batteries?
Sure enough, the batteries were dead. D'Oh! Don't you hate when that happens?
Cheers,
Russ
You never have to recharge a custom hand call :laf:
The person calling will wear out before the call does
Better luck next time

Nope, can't say as I hate it when that happens :nofgr:, I do enjoy the stories about it though. :alscalls: :alscalls:
I just gotta make sure Brad's still breathing and my Caller's just fine :highclap:
ALWAYS take your hand calls with you, even when using an e-caller. And while you were sitting there waiting for things to die down, your scent was drifting farther, and farther, and farther, and farther. Start calling as soon as you sit down.
:laf: Yeah, been there.
Forgot to turn it on a time or two, too. :innocentwhistle:
Yep!! Dead batteries on the e-caller once for me too. :laf: :laf: Aint happened since either. :nono: :nono:
Or like the time I put out a fella's new FoxPro out & didn't put up the antenna. :doh2:
