The boy killed a good longbeard on April 14, 2011. The bird had a 10" beard and 1" spurs. He has a Primos Heart Breaker that has a yelp all its own, and it's his favorite call. He wanted to do something to commemorate his allegiance to the box call for this mount, and he came up with this oak replica to display his fan and beard. He has also determined a theme for our mounts and has dubbed the Mossbergs we carry as "Thor's Hammer", because as he puts it "Everybody feels the thunder!" That's purdy cool. :yoyo: :yoyo:
Nice job! That is a cool and different mount. Is that the shotgun shell he bagged the bird with?
I like that, that's pretty neat.
The top pic is kinda blurry, looks like a drive by. I'm glad you stopped to take the second one :laf:
Semp, that is the shell he took the bird with. We came up with hanging the spurs and beard that way last year. I found out that if you cut the skin around the base of the spur and let it dry, it's just like a fingernail and comes right off. Finishing nails and hot glue are magic! I did the one I killed this year that way and scribed the date on the brass of the shell to start my multi-beard mount.
Jim, I didn't realize the pic was that blurry until I posted it. I also didn't realize you were passing those comedy classes you're taking! :alscalls: Good one!
Nice mount shad, unique, I hope he likes it and glad he enjoys going out hunting with "Thor"
