I turned a few more calls from the Osage Orange branches, these are a little lighter in color due to the small diameter of the branch. The wood under the bark was actually white and then changed to orange as it was turned down. Both of them have some nice grain and sound great with the thin walls of the call body and the ORION Distress tone board. Still hard to believe that 30 years ago I was repairing barbwire fence using “hedge posts†that are the same type wood â€" hard as nails too! Calls are $22 each TYD.

Also got a few calls back from the engraving shop. These are made from Walnut, Russian Olive and Oak.

These are made from Brazilian Cherry. The call on the right (#4) is sold. I think a good name for #2 would be "evil eyes" due too the worm hole above the coyote. Sorry no prone positon pic of these calls but the inside is turned just like the ones above.
