Went in last night and stayed until two in the morning. First time in since the forest fire, just in time as the trail cam showed the barrel empty and moved on the 24th. Put some bait in the barrel, did not have any bears come in, but caught the assend of a wolf passing through (I was dosing, so it was a blur by the time I realized what was happening)

Sorry, date and time are correct, year is wrong, will adjust. Four different sized bears as best I can tell.

Now again I don't know anything about bears but that appears to be an older bear. It appears to have a larger head & definitely has a belly.
Nice pics & Thanks for sharing them. :yoyo: :yoyo:
Just like us older guys Hammer, as we age the waist grows. :eyebrownod:
John
:laf: No doubt!!
But we don't get big heads. :nono: :nono:
Well, you're gettin some action there John.
Hopefully ya get a chance at a big one this year.
I remember that honey jug. Looks like the fire didn't run the bears off.
Honey Jug? The bears woulda run me off. :holdon:
What are using for bait in the jugs?
FOs, They are full of bacon grease or grease from a turkey fryer with brown sugar mixed in. I put a pin hole in it and let it leak on the ground, I then put honey on top each time I go in, the bears go for the honey while stepping in the grease. This serves two purposes, one the trail cam gets a picture and I can very accurately determine size and hide condition, second they drag the grease and smell with them when they leave. I should patent my method LOL

:wo: Pretty smart there John.
Yes, that is a very good idea. Other bears will undoubtedly come across Yogi's grease coated tracks, and follow them back with their nose to your bait site. Thus, equaling more visitors.
