Started on an Ivory call a little while ago... man this stuff STINKS!!! The nicest piece of Hippo Ivory I've ever seen though... got lucky on this purchase.
The whole Hippo tooth next to a carpenters square for size ref...

LoginDrilled out for one of those ivory toneboards... btw I ruined about 6 of 'em.. the jig saw blades were the cause... went to Wood craft today and bought some better blades... ground shapend instead of stamped... :shrug: don't know why but it made the difference and all the rest turned out perfect (IMO) ...oh I have the bead cut too.

LoginHave to call turned to size here... just cut the grooves and India inked the accent lines in.. (taking a break to let the ink dry).. I'll never get over how tough yet translucent this stuff is...

LoginWhen I started out I had a fella ask me to sign my call inside... I decided to sign it with my handle since no one would know who Brad was. I've just stuck with that but on the pure Ivory calls I've signed with my John Hancock. (and dated)

Thanks! I polish it the same as I do the finish on my others... I just sand very fine (automotive sandpaper) then buff with white diamond.
