Title: Whats with these flippin gnats?
Post by: FinsnFur on June 21, 2011, 04:53:26 AM
Anyone else feel like the world is being takin over by gnats?
Holy crap these last several weeks you cant even step outside without being swarmed. They crawl on your face and go in your eyes like your a dead fish laying in the sun.
Then just when you think you cant stand it anymore and you appear to be dancing and swatting at nothing they go into your ears and buzz around. :doh2: :argh:

If you catch them and fatten them up, they make great bait for flies.

:readthis: Uncle swears they are the worst in heavy flood years because lots hatch out in the moist soil near the river. Heavy rain/rising river will slow them down.

Yeah I dont know what lures them or what they even do. Some freak on TV said they dont come from rivers etc, they are attracted to clear water, rain etc.
