Can anyone tell me anything about this gun or where I can find more info on it what it could be worth. 1 trigger hammerless and I know that if you are not careful when you pull the trigger that both barrels will fire pretty much at the same time[milla sec difference] and that is more then my shoulder can take.any info would be helpful Thank You

Thanks bnc. I've got an Aya Matador double barrel, no hammers, one trigger 12 gauge that my dad bought in 1961 or 62 .......can't remember.  :wo:
It looks a lot like that gun.

Also have a double 10 gauge........
That 20 would look sweet setting next to them.

I am considering the sale of the gun It used to belong to my Father-in-law.I do have a couple of his guns but this is one I would consider just a wall hanger, although it is in good shape.

Bill,
When I was trying to find info. on my dad's old Aya Matador I went to a place called Shotgunworld. Here's the link ------------> http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/index.php?sid=5a5b352620961783aef40c194b2a2535

I went to the "Shotgun General" forum and told them everything I knew about the gun. It was amazing all the info. I got back. They told me what all the symbols on the gun meant, how much my gun would be worth, history on the gun.........all kinds of stuff.

Don't get me wrong though. Coyotehunter1 and his dad are walking gun encyclopedias........It still amazes me what those two know about all kinds of guns. Chet's dad is a gunsmith and for all practical purposes Chet is too......he knows more than your average bear.

Good link, Bop! :highclap:

My dad’s a gunsmith, I just like to “tinker” with them.

Gaspar Arizaga-Eibar is not mentioned in my reference copy of the "Blue Book of Gun Values" but it is a 1999 edition. It shows only two Dakin SxS’s with a single trigger. My dad has a current issue, I’ll try to do a little more research.

Dakin Gun Co. (circa 1960's) made (or imported) several SxS shotguns, one of these may be yours:
Model 160: 12 or 20 gauge, box lock, single trigger, vent rib, ejectors and the Model 215: 12 or 20 gauge, side lock, heavy engraving, special walnut, single trigger, vent rib, ejectors. The later being a fancier grade is valued higher. As far as current market value, I have no idea at this time. Brand/model of firearm, collector interest (if any), overall condition and parts availability (for a shooter) all determine overall value.

You stated the gun would double fire. Without inspecting it, I would suspect the internal selector is worn, a common occurrence with firearms like these. A major concern today, with SxS and O/U shotguns, is the avalibity of replacement parts should something “important” break or wear. Some parts often need to be custom made. Finding a gunsmith to repair SxS or O/U shotguns is another consideration. Some types of box locks and side locks can be quite complex to work on and quickly become expensive to repair.
