Title: ClingFish??
Post by: FinsnFur on August 28, 2011, 10:48:26 PM
I've never seen nothing like this the entire time I have lived on this river.
'm not even sure what it's called. I did some Google searching but couldnt find anything that had a suck hole like this thing.
Anyone seen these before?

Looks like an eel but never quite saw one like that before, more so the eyes?

Lamprey Eel, is what they are called up here.

Closest thing I've seen to that was salt water... dang things want to follow you around and cling on.   (years ago)

Neither Rich.

My buddy described the exact same thing.  Cold blooded reptile.  I think he called it Trish - a real monster.

Well I took the camera to work and showed the pics to a few co-workers that I figured might know also.
Some of them said, "how come you got time to walk around all day and show people your pictures?"
And some of them said, Yeahs thats a River Lamprey".

I cant believe I've never seen one here before. According to Google they are an invasive species.

And I found a pic of their suckhole
