Kids back to school yet?
Ours start back tomorrow.
A time when the calm of a quite house comes at the cost of school lunches. :laf:
Ours went back a week ago
They went back 3 weeks ago here .
3 of mine started back on the 10th of Aug and my youngest starts Preschool on the 6th of Sept
One granddaughter started August 15, kids here started last Tuesday, and the granddaughter in MI starts after Labor Day. Quite a spread in dates.

Yeah, I never expected everyone dates to be so far apart. Wow.
Shoot my kids have been to school since, Aug the 17th, I think.
Ours started back two weeks ago. I'm not for sure but I might be the only parent who has bought 30 red pens and have yet to see my kid use one. School fees have went up this year too. On top of that we now have class fees. Yep each class has a fee. The parking permit has stayed the same. :whew: This morning my son tells me tomorrow is a Sr. Skipday! :nofgr: my question was...1 "who skips in the first two weeks of school" and 2 "who's dumb idea was this" I love back to school time.
The red pens are for the teacher. :sneer:
I assumed that since they cut so much of the schools funding that we parents were helping to fill the gaps.
We had to buy red pens, sheet protectors, post it notes and tampons that was to be turned into the teacher.
Ok I lied about the tampons but ya just as well. :laf:
Heck the last couple years we've had to do that, none of it was directly used by any of my kids.
My kiddos are in their third full week. I agree how weird the difference is in starting dates. My kids were in school two days and a full week before Knoxville schools started and they are just two counties over. You would think the states would at least have the same dates. :doh2:
It actually is state wide here Bop.
Every school in the entire state of Wisconsin starts on the same date. With the exception of very few private schools.
Been that way for years up here.
My daughter (public) started this past Wed and my son (still in catholic school) starts next wed.
And I hear you about the fees, Roundman. I can't believe what we have to send in, and then $ on top of that. I didn't laugh at Jim's tampon joke until after I read it was a joke.
The "fees" are just prepping you for whats to come!! Wait till they decide on a college. Talk about an "eye opener"! Of course we as parents will do anything for our offspring. So the education process continues... Good luck to all the youngsters! Hope you have a wonderful year!
Dave
Yeah my oldest daughter (18 in Oct) is talking about moving back here from her mothers so she can go to college down here.
I would be in heaven having a kid back....but I might need another job
