Title: Last nights lightning show
Post by: WhiteHare on September 04, 2011, 10:01:04 AM
It's hard to predict when it will show up.  This is an attempt to capture a part of last nights show.
My first try at lightning pics.

Not too shabby. I've always enjoyed trying that too.

I usually put the camera on the tripod, set the shutter to stay open for 10 seconds, and then take the pic. If it's black enough outside, there's no light to mess up the extended shutter time, you got a full 10 seconds for something to happen, and then if the lightning does strike, it's all show :eyebrow:

If it dont strike, try it again....and again...and again

Dick,

Nice capture.  Make sure you keep them away this coming Friday.  See you then.
