Hey guys, I finally had time to get back in the shop and make a few calls and endedup in the ER. So now I have 10 calls waiting to be polished up and tuned, and I'm out of commission for a week. I had been drilling inserts and had to go eat lunch with my better half. When I came back out I reached for my Trend Airshield and didn't pay attention to the drill bit in my lathe. I ended up running the bit about an inch deep between the pinkie and ring finger of my left hand. 3 hours and 3 stitches later, all I can do is play on the internet. I'm just thankful it wasn't my right hand. :innocentwhistle: As soon as I can get back in the shop without the little lady noticing, I will have 10 calls up for sale. Brian.
Man that stinks! I sure hope no premanet damage was done and hope you get better soon. Besides, I REALLY want to see what you've been turning LOL. I kow a few others do too.
Take care of yourself -
Al

Sorry to hear that! Looking forward to buying a call or two from you. Get better quik.
Sorry to hear that, get well.
Thanks, guys. Feeling is starting to come back and it hurts like hell. Every little move of my hand pulls on the stitches. Doc told me I should be good to go in a few days. No permanent damage. Just missing a little skin and meat between the fingers. Just have to keep it clean and dry till it heals up. Stitches come out in 10 days, but I should be back in the shop mid next week. I do have 4 calls that are straight collector calls that are still in the turning phase, but they won't take too much longer. The 10 that are coming first are a blend of my style and a little Al influence. Thanks again guys, Brian.
Major "ouch" factor! :shck:
Brian,
Sorry to hear of your accident... Real glad to hear you're on the mend. :whew:

Not good dude! Hope you get back in the shop soon, but also glad that it was not any worse than it was!
Looking forward to seeing the calls!

Hmmm . . . I'd jack up the price on that BLOODWOOD call :laf:
Keep that clean and I hope you're back in the saddle soon.

Just watch out for those elusive wild brad point bits. Brian.
Sorry to hear of your accident, but glad that it wasn't worse.

Bloodwood :laf:
As much as it hurts, sounds like you got pretty lucky. Hope it heals up quick for ya. :holdon:
Thanks, guys. I am pretty lucky. The more I think about the more stupid I feel. I'm always aware of my surroundings and careful when my machinery is running. I never thought I wouold get put out of commission by a something just sitting there. I guess it eventually happens to everyone at some point. Brian.

Yep, It does! I cut my thumb off several years back on a jointer. Put me down for a long time!
Now, I think and re-think everything before I move forward. Cost me time but I would like to keep the rest of my fingers and I sure dont want to go threw that pain again!
