I came up with the notion that there may well be a market for a small open reed call that I could sell for a lower price. The call I came up with today is a stripped down version of a Killer call, only smaller. Air channel of tone board is more narrow, and the .014 Mylar reed is also more narrow. The barrel is same diameter as a killer call, but shorter. This little call has good tone, not quite so loud, and somewhat easier to blow.

I bet that would sound great! I personally would love to find an open reed call with a narrow reed and short or no bell that could be worked softly. I stink at calling but one of my favs is a Reese toneboard that i have taped together. It really offers a lot of volume control for me!

After reading Shadragger's post, I think that I will try a .010 reed in that little bugger. I am thinking that I may need to modify the tone board bridge a little, but if I get it to work with both .010 and .014 reeds, a man could enjoy the choice of two calls in one package. Just switch reeds. I will keep you posted.
