On the way to taking the boys to school this morning, we spotted this falcon/hawk (??) sitting on a road sign as we rounded the curve. Managed to get off a couple shots with the S95 point and shoot through the truck window. If there had been a safe place to pull over, I would have attempted to obtain a better picture.
We see several raptors every week. Usually they're perched atop telephone poles or cables. This is the closest I've seen one outside the zoo.

We got tons of them up here. Eagles, and several types of Hawks. Thats a real good pic.
I love seeing them when they spot something on a windy day. They literally spread their wings, head into the wind and suspend themselves in midair to watch it.
