Title: Coho & chum salmon on spawning grounds
Post by: Okanagan on November 06, 2011, 08:40:43 PM
My wife and I took a leaf drive this afternoon and stopped at one spot to look at salmon.  I think most of these are Coho but didn't spend much time there and I definitely saw a couple of chum also.  Both are in the river right now.

The salmon look grey, and there are lots of them in the window of surface without glare left of center.  There is a big one almost on the near shore, behind the foreground sticks.

The spawners are in a side channel of the main river at this point.  The photo below is looking downriver from the same spot.  You can see this side channel run down and join the main river.

Neat images and it looks like it would be a good time to have a net.
