I worked hard today, trying to recreate the little Osage and cown horn closed reed I made yesterday....today, I used Tulipwood and a butterscotch colored cow horn....I also make a tulipwood open reed tuned to make SUPER pup sounds, it uses an ARKY tone board and a 10 mil duralar reed......and a smallish girl dog/pup tuned howler/Magnum distress call....this sucker is LOUD and you could even use it as an elk bugle if you were so inclined....does most distress sounds, but REALLY loudly.

Little horn and tulip call alone..

A cavernous bell...turned thin but not too thin...

The little howler is field grade, not too much shine, not really pretty.....'till ya hear it :)
The tulip calls are of course finished inside and out, and have turned bells....the closed reed has a JC sleeve and will be voiced as chosen...
Thanks for lookin'....if ya like any of 'em, gimme a holler....
Joe
That small cowhorn howler is really neat . I like the way it looks and its small size. How does it sound?
Your having wayyyyyy too much fun Joe :eyebrownod:
I can't find the vote buttons...but looks good from here.
One more thing :innocentwhistle: If these are for sale...I need to move em up to the store.
I know I don't commit much on your calls Joe BUT I really like those :highclap: The open reed looks very good and is a well balanced looking call. I also like the colorization in the tone board just kinda sets it off for me.
Looken good Joe! As always.......How about some info on that Little Girl Dog call?
Brent
All sold guys....thanks!!!
Brent and Bob.....It is one of my Arky Quarterbore tone boards, opened up a little and using a 10 mil reed. It makes extremely loud distress sounds...kinda like a Kat Kaller on a roid rage.....I have no way of checking the decibles, but take my word it is loud and shrill....choke up on it a little and it does vey nice pup sounds and female vocals....takes very little air....if ya get out on the end and use a little more air and lip pressure, it will almost whistle.....I actually can get a very good elk bugle out of it....I didn't put too much of a finish/polish on it....was making it as a low cost field grade type, without too much shine.....Thanks for the kind words....
Joe
The all look great. I love that Tulipwood.
Joe,
Love that tulip wood and that howler is really nice as well. Good Job.
