He graduated Friday from the Naval School Explosive Ordinance Disposal...

... along with twenty-three Army soldiers and one other Marine.

They pinned the soldiers first and then the Marines. Since his name came alphabetically after the other Marine, he was pinned last, making him the newest EOD technician in the United States military.
His dad, my little brother, died when Alex was twelve. He's done really well for himself and I am very proud of him.

He's got to be proud. That Navy EOD school ain't, I say, AIN"T for the weak kneed or faint of heart! I saw an episode about it on the "Surviving the Cut" series on the Discovery Channel. Those are bad assed dudes for sure.
