Dire situations, like those caused by this week’s killer storms and tornadoes, can bring out the worst in people (at least that seems the case according some of the news media). We already know there are scumbags out there who seek to take advantage of the general population when ever and where ever they can. Thank goodness for humanity there are many good people out there also, although we seldom (if ever) hear about them from the talking heads. That being said, I would like to take a moment to give special thanks to the men and women who dedicate themselves to giving aid to those in need of assistance during (and after) emergency situations. During the trauma of the moment their unselfish efforts and heartfelt acts of kindness are most often overlooked or even forgotten. Whether it be paid professionals or good ol’ Joe six pack off the street, when commendations are mentioned I’m willing to bet most of these folks would just nod their heads from side to side and say “No big deal, glad I could helpâ€. For those who have been affected by such caregivers and I’ve been there… THANK YOU!
I like to think there are more good ones than bad ones out there! Maybe I'm naive?? I'm with you, here's to the good ones out there!!
Jim
I agree Chet!! I enjoy helping the good people around here too. Hearing somebody that is in need of help say "Thank You" & mean it is worth way more than anything else I've ever gotten.
Amen...and it's good to hear you came through those storms Chet.
