Title: Noodling again
Post by: FinsnFur on March 07, 2012, 09:24:35 PM
So does anyone here actually do this?
Watching these foo's again on TV tonight. Can you really run your hands over the fish to distinguish his position before grabbing him, without him taking off?

I wouldn't do it, but there are several around here that do. It's easy to tell who the experienced guys are that's been doing it a long time. They have to use 2 hands to tell you they caught 4 fish because they ain't got enough fingers on 1 hand. :nono:

 :alscalls: LMAO! nastygunz

I remember that pic ky~
I'm still wondering if these things lay there and let the grabber feel em over to get oriented before they grab them, with out taking off. I would think you'd have to sneak in and surprise them

Noodling is sorta like playing Russian roulette but you lose fingers instead of your brains.  No thanks.

I have never watched that show.  Do they kill the flatties they catch on there?  Its sad if they do because it takes those flatheads a long time to grow that size.  Most of your flatheads that are above 40 inches are more than likely above 50 years old.

I, dont know if they do or not. I was always under the impression they ate em.

But I still wanna know if these things lay there and let the grabber feel em over to get oriented before they grab them, with out taking off, like they act they they do on the show. :sneer:

Jim, There is usually 2 holes under the rock, a front door and a back, Some one will block the back door and the other will put they hands in the fish's mouth and bring him out.

With this Big boy they ran a rope thru the fish mouth and gills then tied the other end to a small tree nearby, But when they try to bring him out the hole was to small for him, So they had to dig the hole out so he could fit.
Cuz said it took over a hour to get this one on the river bank.

Come on down some time and I will get him to take us with him,
I'll let you put the rope in there mouth  :alscalls: :alscalls:
