Oddly enough I have owned one for a few years in .270..never scoped or fired it yet...always used something else...as far as the gun build I really like it and they get excellent reviews all over the net.

Ya  I  shoot one in a 243.  The marlin is a heck of gun for the money, its really a savage with a marlin stock. has the 110 action and accuatrigger for 300 dollars. Only thing I would like to change is to have it clip fed or bottom drop plate. I'm shooting 65 grain V-max bullets( load my own ) and can put 5 shots in your thumb nail at 100 yards. I'm going to get up on my soap box and tell you I think the 243 is THE BEST caliber out there for 95% of the hunters-you can load from 55 to 107 grain bullets. It will take down anything in north America and is very enjoyable to shoot. Look at ballistics shooting the 243 I have not had a coyote walk on me --when they are hit they don't run. This is product of foot pounds on energy at the target.    OK anyway-good gun for the money period.  Thanks  Steve  :whew:

I have one and like it OK.  Would have to dissagree with it really being a savage though.  Marlins version of the accutrigger is by no means the same standard as Savage in my opinion.  For the money it is a descent shooting gun though.
