We decided a couple years ago to side the ol house here. Well after much debate, price checking, and of course massive periods of procrastination,, The Huntress decided it was time to just paint the house. As you will see in the following pics it may or may not have needed repainting. I guess that would be subject to one's opinion as to what needs painted. :laf: :laf:
I have included after pictures where we have actually gotten things either completed or just darn near completed.

For those of you still looking I will start a new thread covering the front. A LOT of work has gone into that part of the house. :whew:
Now isn't that just like a woman, anything to keep a man from taking a nap. :rolleye: There was plenty of paint left.
:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:
I missed this one HaMeR  :doh2:
I guess we didnt want that door..... any.......more. hehe made a rhyme
I gotta say, you got that place looking pretty dang spiffy seriously. It actually looks as good as new siding would, and at a fraction of the cost.
You do good work. Is that Masonite siding?
It looks great! Lotta work but wow did that ever make a difference.
Looks like a new house!! :congrats:
:alscalls: :alscalls: @ Art!! She's cool with me taking naps Art. She takes one with me!! :eyebrow: :eyebrow:
:laf: :laf:
:laf: :laf: @ Jim!! It's OK Jim. You might not have been able to see past your hand at the time. :innocentwhistle: :innocentwhistle: Nice little rap song you got started there too. :nono: Yeah we saved a bunch of money on this for sure. I'm not the best painter but it is going to suit us just fine. That is 10" Redwood on the whole house. I couldn't find any so I got 10" Cedar. It's primed & ready to go up now.
Thanks Ok!! Amazing what a couple 5 gallon buckets of paint can do isn't it?? :laf: :laf:
Thanks Todd!! Not quite but we sure don't mind pulling in the driveway anymore.
Lookin good !
I've been trying to get my lazy, procrastinating butt up to get the house painted all summer long !!
For some reason I've been able to justify putting it off :eyebrownod:
Thanks Scott!! I've put this paint job off for 10 years!! So just keep trying & purdy soon it'll get to where ours is/was!! :laf: :laf:
Done & done!!
See the tree over the roof??

Tree removal. I could only reach about 41' with this lift. Unless I stood on the bucket railing. Which I did on many occasions. :laf: :laf: And there was a good 10'-12' above me yet. She was a little taller than I expected. I figured nearer to 45' in height. I started with a cordless sawzall to get the small stuff cut & dropped. Once I had it down to a more manageable height I pulled the Echo out & just had a blast!! :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

Thanks for looking!!
Did you get rid of the whole girl, or just whittle er down to a more manageable stage?
You obviously survived the episode since your posted pics.

I just had a 100+ footer taken down in my backyard. I had to hire it done as it was way too close to the house. I thought about cutting it myself but a gut check revealed I have teeny tiny balls so I let a professional company do the work. I also had to have my power lines cut from the house and taken down by the utility guys while the tree was being lowered piece by piece with a crane.
Yeah I watched em take 100ft Pine off the neighbors yard one day, and I can say that line of work is NOT for me. :nono:

Nice pick up Richard!!
Yeah Semp that's waaaaayyyy more tree than I wanna tackle too!! I'm betting as close as it was to the house & power lines I doubt I woulda found any more testicular fortitude on myself than you did!! This tree was a sapling compared to that one I bet.
With the proper training I would do that job. I don't know how good I would be at it but I would certainly give it an honest effort.

Someone must have pointed that out to him too. He didnt notice that :laf: :nono:
House is looking good Glenn! WTG!!
Jim
Glen,
The house is looking really good. Now all you have to do is chop out that stump. Should have some good looking pens hidden inside.
Jerry
Youve been hard at it, and it looks great Glen!!
Thanks Jim!!
Thanks Jerry!! I do have a guy coming by to grind the stump out. I finished cutting it down to a few inches above the ground for him. I have some pieces out in the garage that might make some nice crow calls.
Thanks Dan!!
Diane was a huge help to me. She took care of a lot of things that I would just have spent too much time doing myself. With a good co-worker even a big project seems manageable.
Good Job Glen, That was a major improvement , cc
