Everything is early this year. I think we'll have a bad winter. But we had a mild one the last two years

For the coming season, we’re predicting that winter will return to some â€" but not all â€" areas. We think it will be a “winter of contraries, as if Old Man Winter were cutting the country in half. The eastern half of the country will see plenty of cold and snow. The western half will experience relatively warm and dry condition. In other words, as in the political arena, the climate this winter will render us a nation divided.

We predict that real winter weather will return to areas from the Great Lakes into the Northeast. Most eastern states â€" as far south as the Gulf Coast â€" will see snowier than normal conditions and cooler temperatures.

We are “red flagging” February 12â€"15 and March 20â€"23 for major coastal storms along the Atlantic seaboard; storms bringing strong winds and heavy precipitation.

Semp could very well be correct.

It very well could start by night fall on November 6, 2012. The rioting in the streets by the Socialist liberals in this Country, mad about the fall of their Champion may ignite it all.

Social Security has a dire need to buy up a lot of ammo... to protect themselves from all the citizens they are screwing over as a matter of daily business.    :readthis:
Trust me, I know first hand, they've been screwing me out of money I was getting since last April.   You can get actual answers, far more interllegence by talking to a rock, and the rock knows more about social security than anyone that works for it does.   Angry would be putting it mildly, about ready to retailiate fits better.  Good thing they stay in glass fronted cubicals.

As for the real world, expect we will have another warm winter like we pretty much always do.   Maybe not as warm as last winter, which was the mildest yet in the 22 years I've lived on the desert.  No problem, have plenty of short sleeved shirts, shorts and sandals to get me through it.   For you who still live in the frozen lands....  :alscalls:

I was thinking the same thing Glen.  Maybe those "frozen north" fish are different than our fish.

Frozen to the bottom would be great for ice skating.   Used to do that when I lived in the frozen north - large rivers and small lakes.   More fun on the rivers than lakes though, you could go for miles until a frozen waterfall stopped you.

The frozen north I lived in a river didn't freeeze to the bottom uness it was what we called a creek.   IE, you could just about step over it in summer.   Nor did even fairly small lakes in the rockies, small but deep.   Always room at the bottom for fish in the rivers and lakes.   Works out great for ice fishing, better than on lakes 'cause they are more concentrated and you really didn't need an auger.    Favorites, a couple of large rivers for trout and grayling; a fairly large lake for yellow perch and walleye, a small one for golden trout ans grayling.   Yep, miss the ice fishing, don't miss the rest of the winter wonderland at all.   When hell freezes over I'd rather be on the desert.  Lakes and rivers don't freeze so fishing and boating to fish works just fine.    :innocentwhistle:

Yeah, it'd kill all my fish, but it'd be cold. :eyebrownod:
I'm more focused on escaping this disgusting sick, disease breeding heat, right now.

If this rain we have had for weeks is any indication, we'll be setting another snow fall record this year.

22 years ago on September 18th my daughter was born. That summer was hot, hot and dry. The day we brought her home from the hospital there was frost on the ground that was the 23rd of September. When I woke up on Sunday morning there was frost on the deck. My daughters first winter was a rough one. lots of snow and plenty of cold.

I am putting up extra wood and stores. Just a feeling.
