They finished mowing the farm behind work yesterday were i killed a male last weekend so i took my dog and went calling again this morn. I was setup watching a hill side 300 yrds away with my caller about 30yrds to my left in a row of cedars, I started with a female invite and waited after 5 min i hit the rabbit for about 1 min and just waited. 10 min later Spot jumped and started growling as he was headed behind me :eyebrownod: i looked over my shoulder and saw the coyote 40 yrds as Spot took off he ran down to were the coyote had been and stoped, the coyote stoped at 90 yrds broadside and i shot him, The far cedar tree above the dog is wear i was sitting, this is the 2 coyote he has seen and is doing great i realy enjoy taking him with me.
Congrats on another one Dan!! :highclap:
Way to go Spot!! :yoyo: :yoyo:

Way to go Dan, looks like your dog is working out pretty good. :highclap: Steve
NNNnnnnice! :congrats:
The potential a dog can bring to the table is awesome aint it. They rarely miss a thing.
Nice team work right there! :eyebrow:
Congrats Dan! You are whacking and stacking 'em! Sounds like you got the best hunting companion too. Without Spot would you say you would never have seen that coyote? Makes me think of how many times we get back doored and don't know it.
Jim it a whole different ball game with a dog, If you have the kind of hunting ground for it to work, im lucky to have some open ground. I believe you could sleep on stand if you had a good trained dog and he could wake you when its time to shoot. :laf: Johny he is a great companion and i will use him when i can and miss him when i cant for sure. I think i would of seen the coyote after it crossed threw the line of cedars but i dont think i would of got a shot without the dog. It took me out of the picture as the coyote was so fixed on Spot. Spots owners have to move so i asked them if he was going with them and they said no they would have to find him a new home, :eyebrownod: so i told them he had a home with me.
I didnt know he wasnt your dog. I'd say they found the perfect home for him too then. Heck yah! :yoyo:
WTG Dan and Spot!! Good shooting!!
Jim
