Well there is not a generator or loaf of bread to be found. They are saying we have the potential to get the worst blizzard ever. Hurricane sandy is coming up the coast and a cold front is coming down from Canada and when they collide its gona drop 24-40+ inches of snow with the worst of it being right where I live. High winds on top of that so looking for extreme power outages. Only a little powder on ground now but not suppose to hit untill this evening. Keepin my fingers crossed that it misses us. Dont wana have to deal with no heat and frozen water lines. Il bet the muskies are eating everything in front of them right now lol.
If you guys dont here from me for a while that means no power and cell towers down. Wish me luck.

Stay safe and I hope you voted early for Romney.
Jerry
Good luck riding out the storm Denver. It has picked up speed in the last couple hours, so maybe it'll blow thru faster and not dump as much snow.
Stay safe Denver.
Pat
Yeah were getting hammered right now. 30-50mph sustained and 70mph gusts. We still got electric but its flickering. The eye of the storm will be passing over us in a few hours. Think of us and the area getting hit right now. Their saying that we have never had a storm like this before and power can be out for a week or more.
Yeah, Ben, Dave, Denver, Huntncarve, all you guys up there stay safe.
You getting any snow Ben?
Were not high enough to get snow.
You guys be safe, We will be pulling for you to make a quick recovery if it hits as hard as they say it will. I hope they are wrong.
We're getting the driving rains and high wind right now...Supposed to intensify the next couple hours. We obviously still have power, otherwise I would not be writing this. Stay safe everyone!
P.S.
Had three bucks and a doe standing at Honey Hole II this morning. Could have filled my tag from the bedroom window. LOL! -Did not relish the idea of butchering in a hurricane. :laf:
HuntnCarve
Dave
Pouring the snow now. We are only at about 4 inches now and the wind hasnt hit us yet thank God. They are saying tonight and tomorrow will be the worst of it. Ben and the rest of you guys stay safe. i wish I had fattend up the wife a little more this summer incase snowmageddon hits and I get trapped and have to eat one of her legs or something. She is just to skinny at this time lol.
Got one oak down. Thank god it was the one i was worried about and it wasn't tall enough to do a lot of damage. Im at my parents now for the night. Theres still two big oaks behind the house but with the way the winds blowing they shouldn't hit. Its not supposed to get any worse so hopefully tommarow morning there won't be any more damage.
Stay safe guys. My son lives in NJ across the river from NYC. They are getting hammered right now.
They are saying it's not going to get far enough West to hit us in Wisconsin.
If you guys can do it safely, get us some pics.
Good luck and hang tight
I already got some video
Just woke up to no power and guessing at about 14-16 inches of powder and its still pouring. Broke out my propane heaters so now im just praying my carbon monoxide alarms dont start goin off. Still got cell service as of now. Good luck everybody and stay safe.

Just got up and took a walk around the property and no real damage to be seen. I noticed a good bit of the county south of us still has power so maybe ours wont be out long.
The pics were seeing on the news of the Eastern states is incredible. Hunker down guys.
We are over 3 feet now and it keeps pourin the snow. Still no power but have cell service. These pics were taken about 8 inches ago. Suppose to get a foot more before dark then slow down to where they will start measuring in inches.

Dosen't look like there'll be much moving around in your area for a while. Good thing you got that deer to eat. Take care of yourself and family.
Tree down below the house
Hidehunter,
Wow, you guys got hamered. We only got a smattering here in Parkersburg. Hardly even stuck to the ground.
Jim
Damn...
You guys stay dry and warm, and hope everyone is safe and sound.
Man thats a bunch of snow! I hope you have a slow warm up or you will have alot more trouble. Hang in there and be safe.
That baby snapped the power lines that were headed to Denver's house. :holdon:
Both those pics and the talk of power outage makes me very happy I finally have my woodstove installed.
Hang in there guys.
Our power is on right now. They have us spliced into the grid. Pretty much every big tree on the north face of the hill we live on is damaged. We were lucky. Nothing major damaged. But the wind was worse then any other time i ever have seen it and i have lived on this hill my whole life. Were heading north for the weekend to go camping/hunting with some friends for the weekend. I hope everyone else that got hit hard by this bad storm will come out of it with little damage.
Well the foodland grocery store and the usave gas station roof collapsed that are just a couple miles from my house. Still pouring the snow and im getting a little concerned. Have no idea how much snow we got now...A BUNCH. You guys say a little prayer for me tonight.

I am very glad to be where I am on this one. Light sleet/snow this morning and it has all melted off.
Jerry
That's alottta snow there!
You guys all stay safe and take care.
Will say a prayer for all those affected by the storm
Checking in. Hope you r ok Hide. We lost power and have no idea when we will get it back. Around here it's all wind damage. Trees r hanging on elec lines all over w a lot of roads still closed. I'd say this area dodged a bullet, though, as I was expecting way more rain and a full flooded basement. Heavy thunderstorms r worse than what Sandy laid down. Gotta go fill the generator before turning in. I'll say a prayer for you guys in west Virginia and the people just east of here along the jersey coast.
Wifes little car in driveway...

Mercy! How close the Eastern border are you Denver?
Im in allegheny mtns in central WV. Im a good ways from the ocean. Sandy sucked down a major coldfront from canada and this is what we got. Sandy had winds reaching out over 300 miles. Thank god we didnt get the hi winds they said we might. Snowing again outside as we speak.

Denver, Its hard to imagine that much snow at one time, got to be devastating , sure hope you guys have what you need to stay safe. cc
Well they said it was gonna taper down and yezterday at dark it acted like it was gona melt some but got up this morning to it pouring snow again. I gotta dig my way outta here and go on a propane hunt for heat this afternoon. I have enough stocked up until sometime tomorrow morning but dont wana wait till the nitty gritty.

With that much snow (at least in this area) there would be no one going anywhere. You have a hovercraft that goes over snow?
Jerry
Me and my buddy took his tractor with a bucket on front and moving some snow. Wish I had my horses and wagon here. I could start me up a taxi service lol
On a brighter note it quite snowing for the time being.

Here is a pic of a gas station and conveniant store below my house. I snuck in and snapped a pic while they were plowing and shoveling snow. For the life of me I cant understand why they were doing it because it wasnt gona be open anytime soon but they had parking lot practically clear. Still no power but it hasnt snowed for a couple hours...keeping my fingers crossed.

Well I feel blessed to have power today. I live on the Webster County line and I just talked to my buddy who is an engineer for MonPower and he told me there was 4000 people without power in Webster County. There are only 5600 people total in the county. He has been working 16 hour days and they said they will be working them straight through into Thanksgiving. He is one of the ones that go into the backcountry with me for deer camp and said he wont be going this year. I feel sorry for him. he said he was already tired.
Your power is back? That great new Hide :highclap:

Glad to hear you got the lights back on Denver. Are you dug out to the road yet or is it still covered up?
Sent from my ZTE-Z990G using Tapatalk 2
We are dug out. It has warmed up a bunch and the snow is melting fast. Now its time to see the rivers jump out of their banks. Worst part is I had to go to work today
Good news Denver... :whew: being snow bound can become a real PIA. A person can stand only so many beans and franks. :laf:
Hang in there, we're cheering for ya'.
This is great news for you guys Denver!! Hope the rivers can carry most of the water away without flash floods.
Wow. Thats a lot of snow.
