We held our fourth annual Blennerhassett Friends of the NRA fund raising banquet on Friday evening October 26 here in Parkersburg. Nearly 200 attendees enjoyed a great dinner and helped support the shooting sports with their purchases and generous donations. The Friends of the NRA is a non profit 501 3c part of the NRA that raises money for important national and local shooting programs. Half the money supports national programs like the Eddie Eagle gun safety program in the schools, the Refuse to be a Victim program, etc. The other 50% comes back to our state where we fund grants for the local shooting sports. One of our local high schools got a grant for their ROTC air rifle shooting program. We have also funded grants for local 4-H and Boy Scout shooting programs. Grants are also available for shooting ranges. This is a great program!
