Title: Dicks Sporting Goods removes guns from website.
Post by: FinsnFur on December 18, 2012, 06:01:59 AM
Here we go
Dicks sporting goods has removed AR type rifles from their website and suspended sales for them.
They left the actual AR page up, but removed everything on it leaving a blank page.

Go to http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/home/index.jsp
Mouse over the "Outdoors" tab in the top menu and then select "Guns and Ammo"
From there select "Modern Sporting" from the menu on the right.
Gone! :innocentwhistle:

Nope they arent sold out. I got the info initially this morning on the news where they said Dicks has removed them in lieu of the Sandy Hook shooting.

Online firearms and accessories retailer Cheaper Than Dirt announced today on Facebook that they are selling us out and suspending online sales of firearms effective immediately. Another example of the culture war that we are losing.

This one particularly stings, because I have in the past ordered from Cheaper Than Dirt. Those days, however, and now gone.

It's kinda like watching your dog die.
What can I do to stop it? Can I stop it? Should I even try to stop it.

Count me as another who is not fond of Dick's Sporting Goods.

Cerberus Capital Management, who owns the Freedom Group (who owns Bushmaster, Remington and others) has announced it will sell its 95% stake in the company.  So who knows who will buy the company and what they will do with it.

No thats 2 different things Jimbo.  Cerberus Capital Management owns freedom group.  Freedom group owns Bushmaster and others.  Cerberus is selling out.  I think there is a big teachers union who has alot of stock in that company and that is who is making them sale out.  I do not know this to be fact and I may of made this completely up in my head so if you want facts ya may want to look it up.  What I am saying is just hearsay (I think i read it somewhere) from the internet and unlike alot of morons, I dont state everything I hear/see on the internet or facebook or what have you to be fact.

No, Hidehunter is correct.   Cerberus owns the Freedom Group and not Dick's.

What I am trying to say is that some one may buy the Freedom Group and then dismantle several gun makers.
