Title: First big winter storm 2012
Post by: FinsnFur on December 19, 2012, 07:44:33 PM
I'm kinda excited
It's doing nothing out there right now but they are saying we'll wake up to 6 to 8 inches and by nightfall we'll have anywhere from 12 to 18 now.

They've brought in the National Guard.
They have set up a response center closer to the capitol to take calls from people stranded or in trouble.
They have set up cots and sleeping quarters in the biggest hospitals for the staff to spend the night.
An hour ago there was a total of 103 schools already closed.
Cities with parking ramps have opened them to the public to get their vehicles off the street.

Youd think it's never snowed around here before. Personally I gassed up the truck and stop and bought some wax worms :thumb2:

I am kinda curious to see how much DO we get. I'm doing a Before and After shot here

Its not suppose to hit us until Thursday Night.  That storm we had in October should have done me in for a while but I say bring it on (maybe not as hard as last time)

I talked to my youngest last night who lives up in Antigo yotefever and she said they weren't expecting much. But then they closed her school for today while I was on the phone with her. LOL

Edited the first post to add a pic from this morning. I was hoping to get a pic before people started digging in it...but that didnt happen.

It's still coming down too.

I really am happy for all of the snow worshipers out there.  Personally I will be happy with a light dusting on Christmas eve.  Then it can melt on Christmas morning and keep getting warmer.

This is a god send up here right now. Our soil levels had reached a moisture level so low this year our cows were producing powdered milk.

I wish my jeep( yj Wrangler) was together but I just got a ford 8.8 to add along with a 3" lift, at least I got the paint on before the cold weather.
It now looks like the military tan, very flat paint. I was thinking of using it on hunting guns because it is so flat. It is supposed to be pretty tough, I heard one guy state his sergeant had to use brake fluid on it to get it to shine. :laf:
