I use a Seagate Free Agent Go for my backups. The backup software is included on the drive. Plug it in to a USB port, tell it what you want backed up and let it do its thing. After you set it up the first time, it's all automatic.

Yeah to back up locally the options are pretty much endless. I'm looking for good online backup so that no matter where I am or what happens here or to my machines... I can still retrieve certain files and documents from an online backup.

I have 50 gigs of space on Box.com and 5 gigs on Dropbox I like the layout of Dropbox better and use it for smaller most used stuff. I use the Box.com account for permanent files. I also put work pictures and files in share folders that I can send Engineers/Architects links too, so they can view.

Box.com finally came out with an Android app that instantly downloads my phone pictures to a folder. Dropbox has had that feature for a long time. Once a week I go over and put those pictures in individual file folders and delete the ones I don't want. I also put a copy of my time sheets and daily reports on there in folders.

Don't know what the cost of these are, I lucked up and a guy on XDA developers gave me the 50gig account through his company.

Biggest problem I have is remembering to back stuff up and out of all the things I backup when I have a problem seems the thing I need the most I didnt backup. :doh2:

Yeah, I have to have one that will automatically do this for me. If I had time to gather and upload files myself, I'd put them on my own servers. Right now I'm using Crash Plan (http://www.crashplan.com/) which automatically pulls whatever files I select on whatever intervals I select, for $3 a month.
I like it, but it dont let me go up and look at each file if maybe I only wanted one, I think I have to restore them all. I might be wrong, havent had a lot of time to do a whole lot of digging.

For what you do is way over my head. The bulk of my files are pictures, PDF's and word docks and a few power point docs last.

Can't seem to get either to upload programs correctly.
