How do you get snakes out of a house? Last night i found over 30 snake skins in my moms house in the attic, from 4 ft to 6 ft. They are black snake skins ive seen the snake a few year ago but couldnt catch or kill it. I have the house sold and would like to try and help the new owners out. The lady is scared to death.
Holy balz, I would be too.
I dont know how to get rid of them, and you wouldnt want my method anyway, which would start with a 12 gauge.

Get rid of whatever they are eating, probably mice. Nothing to eat......no snakes.
Pat
Thirty snakes or thirty snake skins?? Might only be a couple snakes and black snakes are good to have around, because they keep the mice and rat population in check! We found one a few years ago at a pistol match and caught it and I brought it home and dumped it out near a ground squirrel hole beside my sidewalk. The ground squirrels (chipmunks) were digging under the sidewalk and concrete steps and causing them to crack and settle. End of problem for several years.
Course for someone who is afraid of them what I said above will probably not help??
Jim
I agree with Pat, no food = no snakes.
OR… Frogman as suggested... if it is a non-poisonous variety like the black snake you spotted in the past, you could just let it be. They are harmless and will live in harmony with humans while keeping your attic/property free of mice and other rodents.

A buddy of mine from Pueblo CO uses a t shirt. This was taken on our antelope hunt in WY. That year we saw a bunch of them in one area.

Jim they were just skins, The number and different sizes is what concerns me! I always thought a snake only lost its skin 1 time a year, So it looks like a snake city to me.
I can only imagine what the crawl space looks like! :puke:
Its been empty for 4 years and the mice had eatin all of the blankets and clothing left in it so im sure it was a smorgisburg. We had removed all of the food that mice could eat when she came to live with us.
Im scared to death of any snake :whew: and Jims first thought was mine also nothing like a good shotgun blast. but its cold now inside the house so i dont think they will be around for awhile, and im not going out of my way to find them.
I turned a blacksnake loose in my garage last hear...better than any cat!! Although i like having one around, the numbers you are talking about is a little much. We used to have 2 in our barn growing up. They were both about 6 foot long. Kinda eary when they would hang from the rafters but were completely harmless. If my Pap would have caught me killing a blacksnake he woulda threw a fit.
