Post by: gravesco hunter on April 07, 2013, 12:18:05 PM
Just patterned some of the new loads and results were only fair with IC choke.

Wouldn't you want a tighter choke for turkey?

Hornady  says use ic chokes on these loads due to special wads.

I have not used the Hornady loads but I have used Federal Flight Control shells and they seem to do better in a IC or Modified choke.

I am going to use Remington Nitro 3 1/2 inch #4 shot this season with my Briley turkey choke.  I have never hunted with them before but I got a couple of good patterns on the two test shells I shot.  Might be just a fluke though.

Trying new loads is part of the fun to me.  I like trying to find a new combination of load and choke that will put just a few more pellets in the pattern at 40 yards.
