Were in big trouble around here if we think were going to get some good mushrooms this year.
Upstate is finding good numbers..(not a good sign) and south of us was finding them in drones the end of April. :doh2:
I climbed hills tonight for a couple hours in the blazing heat (80 degrees) :doh2: and found 5 mushrooms.
Wait a sec..I did find one deer tick too, or should I say he found me.

Tried to take a pic to show you all the elevation I was at above the Mississipi River, with IT and the state of Iowa across the river in the background.
I was getting majorly dehydrated so photo capturing abilities were being depleated :sad3:

yeah, I had zero luck too.
Is that little black thing (lower left) the tick? Flower image looks good.
Jerry
No the tick was on my shoulder :laf: A little tiny deer tick.
I see there IS a little pill bug on the big mushroom though in that pic though.
I ate the mushrooms tonight and it was not even enough to remember what they tasted like. LOL I think they were good :wo:
Head out again and maybe you will be able to find more mushrooms and fewer ticks.
Jerry
I feel your pain! Couldn't find a single one! Did jump a jake while I was scouring the hillside so at least turkey season wasn't a total bust.
I thought about it Jerry, but Im not hearing anything good from the locals so it's kind of discouraging me.
Nailbender, I didnt see any pics out there of the Turkey. Did ya take it? :eyebrow:
Snapped a couple quick ones before I butchered, haven't got them uploaded yet. Too hot to get fancy with temps headed to 9o's all I wanted was cool shower and a cold beer.
Ewwwww gahd...well keep those temps over there. :puke:
