We keep an eye on Mt. Baker in Washington State out our window year round and gauge wet and dry seasons by how much snow is on the mountain. Right now it has slightly more snow than average for this time of year. I took a couple of pics last evening, July 6, when the sun had set on us but was still lighting the top of the peak. If I can remember will take a comparable pic once in awhile, probably some time in August, then in the Fall when the snow gets to piling up again. It was totally white with no rocks showing in late May.

Thats a heck of a thing to wake up to and see out the window everyday :congrats:
Yep, can't believe how lucky we are to live in this place. We were looking for a place to buy, didn't find anything and needed to move soon so checked out a couple of rentals. It was one of our rare clear sunny days when we walked into the dining alcove and I knew the instant that we saw an unobstructed view of Mt. Baker out the window that this was a done deal. My wife loves it.
Prudence, equity, financials... minor stuff according to my wife. :innocentwhistle:
What a great view!
Pat

I know another lady who thinks the same way :innocentwhistle: Nice view.
One day short of one month later, same mountain from same perspective. Photo taken August 6, 2013. Surprisingly little difference from a month earlier, though with a glass we can see many more crevasses opening up and being uncovered as the snow melts. A lot more bare rock will be showing in a few more weeks. The snow cover has stayed longer this year than usual.

Sheesh, and it's almost time to pile it back up again.
