Title: Is this the beginning of the end?
Post by: FinsnFur on September 01, 2013, 09:22:56 AM
Senior Meteorologist Stu Ostro's latest selection of compelling meteorological images for the past two months begins with a strange weather pattern that developed in the middle of July.

A low pressure system aloft moving backwards (east to west rather than west to east) from West Virginia to New Mexico?? Yes, that's what this one did! You can see that in the animation above as an area labeled "L" in the cooler colors, being forced to take an unusual path, the key being an exceptionally strong ridge of high pressure represented by the purple shades. The most bizarre case so far of the hundreds of extreme and/or unusual weather events in recent years documented that might be related to the changing climate.

Probably getting close to the next pole shift that happens every few hundred thousand years. Volcanoes will erupt, earthquakes will rip the fault lines apart, 100' tides will wipe out coastal cities, and gas will go up another $5 a gallon. Better go to Wal-Mart and get some milk and bread. That's the only thing that will save you.
