Title: 496 Brand New Vintage Cars auctioned off.
Post by: FinsnFur on September 28, 2013, 07:38:35 PM
Anyone watching that on the History Channel?
Lambrecht Auto Auction in Pierce, Nebraska.

The story is the fellow Ray Lambrecht, who ran the dealership, had an unconventional business plan. At the end of each model year he took all of his remaining cars and put them into storage. He wouldn’t even consider selling them. These leftover cars along with dealership memorabilia are being auctioned off. most of them 50 years old or more and have less then 5 miles on them. Some STILL have the plastic on the seats!

Nice that he stored them in such a nice environment.  That sure kept the value - or not.

Wow.  To bad Ray's 96 and will have trouble enjoying the $ those cars are bringing in.
Looks like the auction was yesterday and today.  Here's an article on on some of yesterdays' sales

Dave,

At least you only had to pay $500 to get rid of your Ford.  Most folks just abandon them along the river banks after they die.  :alscalls:
