Title: Cotulla 8pt
Post by: FOsteology on November 03, 2013, 09:32:59 PM
250Savage connected on an 8pt buck Saturday evening in Cotulla Texas. Perhaps his nom de plume should be changed as he's now using a .308Win  :laf:

Kimber 84M .308Win shooting 150gr. Nosler Accubond.
Deer was positioned quarter towards at approx. 90 yards. Buck upon hit actually ran straight to us. I swear I thought he was going to end up in our lap! At less then six feet he veered off towards our left and gave up the ghost not 10 yards from us.

A doe was taken yesterday afternoon, and a small (100lbs give or take) boar was killed Friday morning. Six catfish and a dozen bream caught Friday afternoon, which made an excellent fish fry for that evenings meal.

Now to get my the oldest boy and my daughter on a buck. And probably one of my nephews as well. Then maybe I'll get an opportunity to kill a buck this year!

Beautiful deer. The coloring on those southern deer always gets my attention.

Great looking buck.  That had to be a bit of a rush having it run right at you.

Yeah, Aaron has been growing faster than a weed. I swear between him and his oldest brother we're going to be in the poor house. An unbelievable amount of food they consume.... and hungry five minutes later.  :doh2:

Congrats Aaron.  That's a nice looking buck.  I really like how dark he is, and looks like there's no white throat patch.
