Title: Tag Soup
Post by: FOsteology on January 19, 2014, 01:49:06 PM
Who else has partaken of this delicacy this season?

Oldest boy and I were skunked on mature wt bucks all season. Guess we'll have to take out our frustration on squirrels, coons, and coyotes till Fall.

It has been known to happen around here.  I find that it is very watery and seems to lack meat!

Not to mention paper cuts if not cooked long enough.

I've never particularly cared for it. This coming Fall I'm going to strive NOT to end up with this culinary abomination.

Yes, but gives the broth a little more body and flavor.

Stuck a doe with my crossbow earlier this month. Rifle season opens this weekend. Hoping I'll fair better this year on knocking down a "muy grande venado". Seeing signs of pre-rut. Cold front this weekend (mid 40's in the am is the weekend forecast.... that's a cold front in these parts!!)

I had to munch on my spring turkey tags this year.   Worst season in years for me.

Kaintuck's deer gun season opens a week from tomorrow.  I saw 15 does on my small farm yesterday.  I got a nice 10 point on camera a couple of weeks ago.  Hope he is still around come November 8.   If not, a nice doe will do just fine for me.  We eat a fair amount of venison at my house.
