Thank-You Ed, having problem with photobucket. The first picture was last Thursday at sundown, the leaves where frozen and very loud, walked up and set on a hill behind the house and started calling, I could here this coyote running towards me from my right side, but could not spot him. He run below me at about 20 feet but still could not see him, he went to my right up the hill and behind me, figured he would wind me and leave. Turned around and started calling and heard him walking back down the hill, shoot him at 60 yards. I gave him to a trapping friend who skinned him out and told me he was as fat as a pig, they cut the stomach open and found two handful's of hickory nuts in him. The second pic was last Saturday morning after a fresh snow, set up where three logging roads came up a hill, started calling and he walked up to 20 yards from me. nice broad side shot. He was also very healthy. Thanks Steve
You're welcome Steve. And CONGRATS on the coyotes. I sure didn't know they eat hickory nuts.

Congrats, Steve. I was told coyotes eat just about anything so I guess the hickory nuts don't surprise me too much.
Glad to see you were able to make a couple good coyotes out of the bad ones Steve! Congratulations!!!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
Just wondering did they swallow the Hickory nuts whole? congratulation on the Coyotes, looks like you put the bullet right thru the boiler room. :yoyo: cc
Good job, Steve. Nice coyotes.
The gentleman who preformed the surgical procedure said some had been chewed but most where whole, he also said the coyote had a lot of fat on his upper back and stomach area. I know when I first picked him up he felt very heavy. Since I only made it about half way to the LBL hunt I thought I would spend time around the farm rather then go back to work, we have been hearing quite a few coyotes at night around here. Thanks Steve
Yrs ago different Winters. I watched a coyote & a Red Fox. Hold an ear of field corn with their front paws. Then peel off the corn husks & eat the corn kernals. The coyote held it's ear of corn upright. A sign of class? I suppose :laf:
WTG Steve Congrats
Your a killer steve great job.
