Thanks for posting the pictures Ed, I am also having problems with photobucket.
Make it out Monday evening just before dark. Made a couple of howls and barks on the ELK howler. waited about 10 mins and pulled out the Jimmy in Kentucky closed reed call and let out some high pitch screams. As soon as I stopped calling I could here the crunching snow and a rock flip in the creek below me.
The first one saw me and ran down the hill. I got a running shot off but he kept going. turned to find the 2nd one and he was gone, Hit the Jimmy in Kentucky call again and saw him slipping down the creek bank in the trees. A quick bark stopped up in his tracks and the 22-250 left him there.
Went to look for the 1st one and found tracks and a blood trail 2 feet wide in the snow. He had made it to the creek about 75 yards.
Both where males the biggest one weighted 34+ and the smaller 31+
I am sure some of the smaller one weight had to do with the water and Ice.
Those look like some prime coyotes. Congrats on your hunt.
