I agree. Its free on i books. I hunt some of the areas he talks about frequently. The black forest of pa. A friend turned me on to the book

Sure was a different time back then. I was real interested in his use of deadfalls for trapping especially for bears. The book kind of reminds me of how I grew up in Vermont. He has a good straightforward, detailed way of writing that I enjoy.
