I don't believe that article is correct, Jim.  There are lots more states than just 3 that allow suppressors.   Kentucky is one of them.

Here is an out dated old map but it shows more than 3 states.

I have to agree with semp. there are many  more than three states that allow suppressors. But I can guarantee that map is out of date cause you can use them in Indiana now, I believe last year the laws changed for the Hoosier state

I think it only refers to 2014. Alabama has become the third state to legalize suppressors in 2014.

QuoteAlabama recently became the third state to legalize suppressors, and it appears that more states will follow suit.

Well that was clear as mud.   :laf:

Now if they would only do away with that $200 tax stamp.  :eyebrownod:

That can be a lil misleading as some states just dont recognize them so there isnt any regulations on suppressors as far as hunting goes TN was and i guess still is one of them.

Ask the WI dnr and they will tell you they are illegal but there is no law on the books so who wants to be the test case?

Thier legal here in Wisconsin but you still need approving paperwork to own one here.

Form 4....Typically, no more involved than obtaining a concealed firearm permit in most U.S. states. The typical process includes submitting two simple forms, two sets of fingerprint cards, two passport photos, a citizenship declaration form, and a signature from a chief law enforcement officer in your home jurisdiction. If your CLEO is a hard ass and wont sign off then it can always be filed via a NFA Trust

Like Semp said, do away with the $200 stamp. That and the 9 month wait is the fly in the ointment. Just sell the things, but they won't 'cause it's a money thing.
