I was able to get pretty close to some bears while in Alaska and got these pictures:

They were taken at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center in Girdwood, Alaska.

Terrific grizzly photos!
Really great images of the bears and much closer that I would have felt comfortable being.

Awesome pics :congrats: But...how did you pull that off?

Jim,
The bears really were very close, but they were behind a fence. I was able to get the camera close enough to the fence that the wire isn't visible, or I was able to crop it out. A couple of the shots were taken from an elevated walkway.
That big brown bear was a thousand pounds.

Same way I'da took em too!! From BEHIND that fence!! :laf: :laf:
Nice pics Pat. Those are some mighty fine looking bears.
We hit that place a couple times a year Pat. It's actually really cool. They take in all kinds of orphaned animals each year. Some they hold on to, some find homes at Zoos all over the world.
That woulda been pretty cool. I hope it was a good fence :laf:

Yea, nothing like a 4 inch cow fence and an electric wire to stop a charging bear. I am just guessing that they know that they have it pretty good there and don't want to bite the hand that feeds them. :iroll:

Good god lol [emoji102]
Gee, they look so furry and cuddly. Great pictures.
