Title: Duracoat
Post by: msmith on October 16, 2014, 12:22:01 PM
Tried my hand at Duracoat. Took my beater 1911, sandblasted it, parkerized it with zinc phosphate and done a two tone job. Wolf Gray and HK Black. Gonna do a couple of ARs and a shotgun or two. I have Kryptek camo stencils, so I am going to try a camo job in the near future.

Thanks guys. We'll just call it my "Work Horse" 1911.

Looking forward to the camo job. Hope the weather holds out because I do it in my garage and it isn't heated...yet.

Also have a Colt Combat Commander in 9mm that I am massaging. It's nickel now, so I figure on using something to keep it similar looking to the factory finish.
