Title: Smaller version now available
Post by: Dave on July 13, 2015, 09:00:02 AM
How do you battle this?
Found it embedded in my leg this morning.  I needed reading glasses and a magnifying glass to see what it really was and extra fine tweezers to remove it

May I present the Micro-Tick

Just got done taking my 3 weeks worth of antibiotics three days ago
Now I guess I have to watch this area to see if another bullseye rash appears

Here it is blown up

Yikes!  Micro-Tick but macro problem.

I'm not certain but that looks like the nymph stage of the lone star tick.   LBL has bazzillions of the little bastids.  That is one reason why I stopped hunting there in the fall until the first frost.

It sure does! I hate those things I wish they could spray and eradicate them.

Interesting - probably is the nymph stage of the deer tick.  I can't believe how tiny it is.  I only noticed it because it itched just a little.
Hopefully it wasn't attached long enough if it has the lyme bacterium.

Dave
You mentioned in your first post about another bullseye rash.  If you had a bullseye rash already I'd head to the Doc ASAP.

get to the Dr immediately... they can shoot you up with something to circumvent the disease developing... that is unless your past 3 week regimen will still cover this...

Thanks - I did go to the doc almost a month ago when I felt like sh*t and then saw a bullseye rash.  Immediately put me on antibiotics that I just finished up.   Feeling good now.
Now this little sucker shows up on me  :madd:  I'm hoping he wasn't infected.  I don't think he was as that area (where he was) is almost back to normal.
Lyme is rampant around here.

I though about having the vet give me the same shot he suggested for the pup a anti Lyme shot.
