A couple more pics from the same falls. You couldn't see these in the first pics as they were on the side I was on.

Ice falls like this are why I Want to canoe down sand creek. I almost made it a couple weeks ago but due to family matters was unable to. Now there is too much shelf ice to be safe going down the creek. Hopping for the chance before winter is over.

Is that Niagara Falls? The ice coming over the edge is like mammoth

Nope not Niagara falls. In fact the amount of ice is kind of miss leading. The only time that streamlet has more that a few drops of water at a time is immediately after a pretty good rain storm. other wise it is just a steady drip. We had a pretty good rain about three days before the freeze that produced all that ice. We hit 53 here just yesterday so I think most of that ice would be gone now. But hopefully with the warm weather the shelf ice along sand creek is gone and I can get the canoe out this weekend and get some pics of the cliffs along the creek and maybe just maybe still have some ice hanging.
