I was out last weekend and caught my personal best kayak largemouth. Hope they are still hanging around this weekend; it's tournament time!!!

20 1/2? Holy moly that is a BOSS :congrats:
Fishing the dikes uh? Your giving away your secrets :eyebrow:
Nice one...That's a bruiser!
Dang!! How far did you get pulled from your landing spot??
Well done!! :yoyo: :yoyo:
Wow that's a nice fish.
Good luck in your tourney.
Chunka!
Impressive fish! And impressive way to go after them.
Nice!
But you sure that's a large mouth. The jaw don't go past the eye. That would make it one really nice smallmouth
You could use that bass as a silent motor. Might even be a good fish locator for you. Really nice!
Jerry
Very nice.

It's a largemouth. Absolutely no doubt about it.
Yep definitely a largemouth, we don't have smallmouth in this lake. Just spots and largemouth.
Well the days leading up to tournament time were better than tournament day. I went out on Friday to check out a few more areas and had 9 bites. Only stuck 3 of them, the rest would grab the shaky head and hold on to it. I would then pull them to the top of the water, just to get an idea of what size they were. I had 4 places that was holding good 15" fish. Went back the next morning and they were gone or in a non-feeding mood. Only got 2 bites all day and missed both of those. Needless to say I, the fish had my number. Thinking back on it I realize a couple of things I done wrong.
1) Fish the day, not the day before.
2) If what your doing is not working, CHANGE!!
I can only say I will get them next time!
Nice bass Ronnie!!
Thanks for the report.
Do you ever fish standing up? Haven't fished out of mine too much, but do get frustrated with being so low to the water (it's a sit on top type - would like to be another foot or so up).
I fish 99% of the time standing. I couldn't catch a cold sitting down, it's just to low to the water for me.
I'm considering one of these. I like the kayaks you guys are using but I like the idea of using my legs to get where I want to fish to free up my hands for slingin a ratl trap at a likely looking spot. Don't care for the canopy tho.

I like that too. Seen a pontoon at Cabelas a lot like it.
My brother-in-law in South Carolina has a couple of paddle boats on his farm pond. They are fun, pretty easy to fish from and, except for having to steer from time to time, free up your hands.
My wife out fishing me again:

Yeah I'll spend more time upright this year. Hope to get out in the next week as temps are supposed to be in the 50's and 60's from Monday to the following wkend
