are crow calls considered predator calls?
steve
Locator calls at Cabelas & Gander Mtn. HONEST!!
Crows definitely are predators tho. Very efficient ones at that.
In the earlier days, back when Ladobe :sneer: started they were considered "Varmit" calls, and thats what predator calls fell under too, for the most part, but I think over the years as the word "Varmint" phased out a bit they all kinda went there own ways. And now they are just "crow" calls, but like predator calls, in some circles, they are classified as "locators" :roflmao: Sorry couldn't do that with out the laugh'n smilie. :innocentwhistle:
At least thats my take.
A lot of folks use a crow call for locating turkeys. just like a howler can be used.
Come to think of it. I had turkeys respond when I slap my truck door.
Can I enter my Ford in the turkey locater class??
Clint.
I don't know Clint. Sounds like a production call to me :innocentwhistle:
Hey Todd... I could take that sneer several ways you know... :wo:
You are right about one thing though. They were generally called varmints (or vermin) and not predators, so the calls we now call predator calls were all lumped together as varmint calls, including crow and a few others... at least out here in the west.

:roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
If you use it to locate Turkeys they are locater calls.
If you use the to call crows they are Crow calls.
If you use them on a coyote stand they are varmint calls.
:roflmao: :roflmao:
