You almost have my sympathy. :innocentwhistle:
Even a wet day on the water beats being inside at work.
Jerry
Great video. You sure are good at making those videos, great quality and cool rain scene outside the picture frame at the end. Gonna recommend the actor you hired for an Oscar. Sure looked like a great place to fish. I love to cast into the little dips and coves along the edge of lily pad beds.
That looked like a killer spot didnt it Clyde :eyebrownod: It didnt produce squat this time though.
On my way back in, I did re fish the holes that I worked on my way out and yanked this marmaduke out though right before the rain hit. :yoyo:
The way he was digging into the river I was praying it was a monster bass. The line was peeling off my reel like a prom dress and I kinda had a feeling it was too good to be true...much like the prom dress.
This is what finally surfaced after a few minutes of 'tug of war".

I bet that got your blood pumping.
Jerry
What kind of fish is that?
BIG fish! Is that what they call a drum down in Oklahoma?
It did get my blood pumping. Especially since it was the only thing I caught that morning.
It is a drum. A fresh water drum. We call them sheephead up here, I dont know why, but.
The have a white stone on each side of their brain. When I was whipper snapper my Grampa would cut them and give them to us kids as he cleaned fish, making them out to be something collectible. Man I had a pile of them.
They were kind of cool. A bit like a piece of ivory, but rather useless to be honest.
A stoned fish?
...and then destoned.
Purty cool.
What was purty cool?
Me getting a wet ass?
That big ole junk fish?
Or my case of BedHead?

I'm glad somebody is having fun. We're setting around here with VERY few groundhogs to shoot & no grass to mow!! Aint had but maybe 2" of rain since before Memorial Day. The damn weeds are about ti die off it's so bad. The Maple tree out back is starting to drop it's leaves already. Found a dozen on the ground already. It's next to REAL bad here!! The river is way down & so are some of the lakes. Keep hammerin those drum Jim!! It's better than a damn drought I tell ya!!
Wow..I didnt know you guys were dusting up like that.
Yep. Haven't seen this much of the bottom of the river here in a very long time. We get a sprinkling from time to time. Got another one yesterday evening. Barely made the ground moist.
It has been pretty dry around here too, but not like you have Glen. We did get about a half inch two nights ago, but it came down in about 5 minutes so it didn't really soak in. (Now where is that rain dance icon?)
Jerry
I'm seeing more trees dropping leaves here. Seen one where the leaves are turning yellow & dropping already!! Man now that's dry I tell ya!! We'll make it thru alright. Been worse droughts around here.
A side note to the drought. I'm certain I'm partially to blame for it. I sold my very good rider to a co-worker that needed a rider real bad. Sold Diane's push mower to another co-worker that needed a good mower. I brought home a brand new Husqvarna pusher for Diane & a brand new Gravely zero turn for me. I've mowed 3 times since they've been here & one of those times was for the neighbor who was out on his 2 weeks a year commitment to the ANG. 13yrs ago when I bought the ones I just sold it wouldn't stop raining long enough to mow!!!! :doh2: :doh2:
We've been getting soaked in S.E. Ky. It ruined my vacation plans for this week.
Glen, you can always put a leaf pickup on the mower. That way you can still enjoy riding it around.

Send some to Glen.
That's about as far North as the rains been coming Ed!! We've had at least a dozen times where the rain would get within 50 miles of us & the radar would just clear up. :rolleye: :rolleye:
I hear ya on that Jerry!! I'm just gonna beat the leaves to tiny pieces rather than collect them. :laf: :laf:
Thanks for the help Jim!!
