Diane has been researching the wrongdoings & evil doers of Ohio & more notably our area. Sunday we took a ride & got some pictures. This one happened about 45 minutes from home.
Louiza Catharine Fox. Her headstone is the only one overturned in the Salem Cematary with crude graffiti written on it. If I had to say I would say it was a family member on his side. Merely speculation on my part tho.
The story. http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM1WC2

Helen Brach. Heiress to the Brach Candy fortune was born in Unionport Ohio. Some 25 minutes away. She designed this monument. There is an empty tomb here with her name on it.

Holy chit is that ole Louisa's shadow hanging around in the first picture :innocentwhistle:
Nasty LOL
I dont think so nasty. Seems you would be able to see thru her ribs if it was.
:laf: :laf:
Poor kid was only 13 years old they should've hung the son of a bitch twice!
Tragic story. should have castrated the prick before they hung him. Scary to think my wife has relatives in Belmont Country. :wo:
Public hangings might help deter some crime or at least put an end to repeat offenders.
Jerry
I couldn't agree more nasty/bambam. I was pissed knowing her head stone was the only one tipped over. Then it was obvious,, to me anyway,, who did it when I read the profanity on it. :argh: :argh:
Impossible for us to reset the stone otherwise we would have.
Whoa! I wasn't expecting the ice climbers in there! That looks like fun! :yoyo:
Neat stuff on the gravesites too. Those old cemeteries sure hold a LOT of stories.
:laf: :laf: @ Coulter. Yeah I just threw thos in there quick. Thought you might want to see how Ohioans climb a mountain!! :alscalls: :alscalls:
I use to hunt some game lands that had a neighboring children cemetery. Most of the headstones were weathered away but the oldest date that I could make out was 1736. I talked to some locals and they told me that the cemetery was for children only who unfortunately past away from having measles, small pocks, and other diseases. There was an old railroad that was built during that time that use to pass behind the cemetery and we found an old time medicine vile embedded into the small hill side. It was surprisingly in mint condition.
Thats cool finding dates that far back. You might find some more of those bottles back there if you dig carefully.
Glen be careful your wife might have a shovel hid in the truck!
:laf: :laf: Thats why we go in the winter mostly. She doesn't like being out in the cold!!
